백인균 교수는 서울대학교 경영대학 및 경영전문대학원에서 회계학 전공 조교수로 재직하고 있다. 서울대학교 경영대학에서 경영학 학사 및 회계학 석사학위를 취득하였으며, 미국 위스콘신 대학교 매디슨(University of Wisconsin-Madison)에서 회계학 박사 학위를 받았다. 서울대학교에 부임하기 전에는 싱가포르 국립대학교(National University of Singapore) 경영대학에서 5년간 조교수로 재직하며 학부 및 석사 과정 강의와 연구를 수행하였다.

주요 연구 분야는 관리회계 및 통제 시스템, 지식기반 경제, 조직 문화, 그리고 기업 지배구조이다. 최근에는 재택근무 및 원격근무 환경이 직원들의 정보 수집, 생산성, 모니터링 및 이직에 미치는 영향 등 현대적 근무 형태 변화에 따른 조직 관리 이슈와 분석가 예측, ESG 지표 설계 등을 주제로 활발한 연구를 진행하고 있다.

연구는 회계학 및 경영학 분야 최고 권위의 국제 학술지인 The Accounting Review, Management Science, Journal of International Business Studies 등에 게재되었다. 특히 단독 저자로 집필한 박사 학위 논문 연구는 미국회계학회(American Accounting Association) 관리회계분과(MAS)가 전 세계 관리회계 박사학위 논문 중 해당 연도 단 1명에게만 수여하는 최고 권위의 '최우수 학위논문상 (AAA MAS Outstanding Dissertation Award)'을 수상하며 세계적인 학술적 역량을 인정받았다. 또한 International Society for the Advancement of Financial Economics (ISAFE) Best Paper Award, AAA MAS 우수 심사위원상 (Outstanding Reviewer Award) 등을 수상한 바 있다. 학회 활동으로는 AAA MAS Midyear Doctoral Colloquium 멘토 및 Dissertation Award Committee 위원으로 위촉되어 활동하였으며, Contemporary Accounting Research, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Management Accounting Research 등 다수의 국외 저명 학술지의 심사위원으로 기여하고 있다.
