프랑스 INSEAD에서 조직이론 전공으로 박사학위를 취득하였다. 네덜란드 Tilburg 대학교와 고려대학교에서 경영전략을 강의했다. 서울대학교에서는 창업과 변화관리를 가르치고 있다. 연구 분야는 복잡계 네트워크를 이용하여 자본주의 제도와 그 대안의 특성을 분석하는 것이다. 거시적으로는 교환 행위를 조율(coordination)하는 교환규칙의 특성을 조직변화, 혁신활동에서 규명하고, 미시적으로는 교환 행위의 경험을 상호작용의 범주적 질서로 탐색하고 있다.
