Professor Introduction

Kyungmook Lee is Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at the Graduate School of Business, Seoul National University where he currently serves as a director of the Research Institute of Industrial Relations. He did his undergraduate work in business administration at the College of Business Administration, Seoul National University and received his PhD in Industrial Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
His current research is concerned with the management of Korean companies and Confucian leadership. His earlier research has focused on the social capital of organizations and institutional changes. His research has been published at the Academy of Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal, Long Range Planning, and the Harvard Business Review.
His work on the institutional changes of large American law firms won the award for the best paper published in the Academy of Management Journal in 2002. His work on Confucian leadership won the Baekbum Leadership Research Award for the best paper published in Leadership Research in 2005. He was selected as the Professor of the Year in 2003 by the Alumni Association of the College of Commerce, Seoul National University.
